Risk Register
The Risk Register is the base module in Risk Shield Pocket. It allows the user to add risks and also to edit or delete any previously entered risks. There are 3 columns on the main "Risk Register" screen:
Risk Name:
Lists all risks which have been created in each module
Rating:
Shows the risk rating of a particular risk, and only displays when that risk has been analysed and assessed.
Source:
Shows in which module/location the risk was first created. An "H:" indicates a risk from the Hazard module, "I:" from the Incidents module, and "W:" from the Work Plan module.
Note: Use Tap and Hold (TaH) to add, edit and delete Risks. Fields marked with a "red asterix" indicate a required field.
Adding, Editing and Deleting risks
To add a new risk, click on the "New" menu at the bottom left of the screen or TaH the screen and select "New Risk" from the popup menu.
To edit an existing risk, tapping on the risk to be edited will automatically open the risk for editing. Alternatively, TaH the risk and select "Edit" from the popup menu.
When adding or editing a risk, a number of new tabs become available alongside the "General" tab once the "Risk Name" has been entered. These include:
Outcome: Here you may enter and describe any potential outcomes which may take place if the risk occurs.
Controls: Here you may enter any control measures to mitigate the risk, as well as the person responsible and the current status of the control. There is no limit to the number of controls able to be entered. An existing control will impact the inherent analysis . A new control will affect the residual.
Assessment: This tab allows you to assess and enter in the probability and consequence levels of your risk. Risk Shield will then automatically calculate the "Risk Rating" from the risk matrix.
To delete a risk, TaH on the risk and select "Delete" from the popup menu. A popup screen will ask you to confirm your delete request.
Note: The mechanics for adding, editing and deleting any items within Risk Shield Pocket (e.g. tapping and holding or clicking on the "New" menu) remain the same for all other modules.
